Casio MQA-100G (Module 333) Re-case 18/3/2023 Hello Casio watch enthusiasts from around the world, I hope you are all well! Back in February, I wrote a post about a rare watch I had bought second hand from an auction site. The watch is an MQA-100G and in the add it said the watch only needed a new battery. I placed a bid of £10 and luckily won the watch. The next images are from the actual advert.   and and and The watch looked very grubby, yet I could see no actual scratches on the glass, case or strap and I thought I would take a little gamble. As I said, I won the watch for £10 (plus £3.65 delivery) and I ordered a battery immediately. A couple of days later, the watch arrived and also the new battery I had ordered. Happy days I thought. So, as soon as I had time, I removed the strap and removed the case back.  I then removed the old battery and all my hopes dreams of a rare and cheap Casio were shattered. The old battery must have been in there a long time and it had leaked so badl

Casio MQA-100G  3/2/2023 Hello Casio enthusiasts from around the World. I hope you are all well. The watch above is an old Casio MQA-100G, from the mid to late 1980's. It is identified as an analogue and digital watch. The watch above is the actual watch I bought at auction tonight. I took a gamble on this watch, as it is not running and "only" requires a battery. It should arrive next week. I have hope the watch can be revived, to some of it's former glory and I look forward to working on it. As soon as it arrives, I will update you on the condition of the watch. I am trying to find a new battery to check the function of the watch. The battery arrived shortly after I wrote this post and unfortunately the watch did not work. After closer inspection, I found that the old battery had leaked into the watch causing substantial damage. The leaked acid had travelled quite a distance in the watch destroying various components along the way.  The main PCB (printed circuit bo

2023 Casio Watch Projects Hello fellow Casio watch enthusiasts from around the world. Let me also wish you a belated Happy New Year too.  I hope you are all well.  In 2023, I hope to have many projects to show you and I am always on the hunt for lesser known Casio gems. For me, this is an ongoing project to find many of the used watches that I always wanted growing up as a Casio fan. Many of the watches I am looking for, were far too expensive and out of my reach, and all I could do, was dream. I have, in the last couple of years, managed to purchase some watches I was after. However, the list is long and funds are few, and so the Casio watch hunt is always on. You may also be aware that the price of used and unique Casio watches has risen considerably. This is a good situation for some, and bad for others.  Two further projects I need to complete are my AQ-321 and AQ-340. The AQ-321 (white dial), needs a new strap as a couple of the links are damaged. It also needs another deep clean

Casio AB-200 Databank Watch (Module 321) 18/6/22 Hello fellow Casio watch enthusiasts, collectors and welcome to my post. As the title suggests, this post will be about the Casio AB-200 Data Bank watch. You may be aware (if you have read my previous posts), I have been looking for a good example for a long time now but finally, I have one on it's way to me. The actual watch is the one in the picture below and are the pictures I based my decision on to buy it. They are not the best pictures in the world and to be fair, the watch is not the best example of an AB-200 but it's the best I can afford at this moment. It is finished in silver with as best as I can see, has a white dial. I do believe the AB-200 silver came with either a white dial or a black dial. Whereas the AB-200G (gold) could come with a white, black or gold dial. To be honest I like the silver watch, both with either the white or black dial. I am just pleased to at last secured one! Another cool feature of this wat
