Casio AB-500 Data Bank Watch Battery Change  (Module 386) Hello fellow Casio enthusiasts from around the World, I hope you are all well. In this post I will be changing the battery in the Casio AB-500 Tele Memo/Data bank watch.  The battery in this watch has not been changed since January 2024 so it is due a new battery. The battery I will be using is a    type 371 silver oxide battery. I am using a silver oxide battery as they are less likely to leak when the battery nears it's end of life. I have been changing all the batteries in my watches to silver oxide as I had previously been using the cheaper alkaline batteries which have a tendancy to leak near the end of their life and that is something I would like to avoid. Leaking batteries can destroy watches and stop them from working. The battery cost me £4.95 which is quite expensive for a watch battery, but it has a less likely chance to leak and I'd rather go with this option. As you can see, the display is faint ...

Casio AB-200 Data Bank Watch Battery Change   (Module 321)  Hello Casio lovers from around the world, I hope you are well. As the title suggests, I will yet again be replacing the battery in the AB-200. To be fair, for an old watch it doesn't eat through batteries. It has actually been three years since I last changed the battery in this watch so I'm quiet happy with it's battery usage. To be honest though I did use a decent battery (Duracell) in the watch the last time I changed it, so I thought I would use the same battery again.  The watch uses a LR1130 type cell, so I bought the Duracell brand and it cost £3.90. There are some examples still around and for sale. However, they are normally very expensive and in very poor condition as you could image a 30 years plus Casio watch would be.  Therefore an AB-500 in excellent condition will command a price tag of around £500.   Is it worth that kind of money, well, it may be worth that to an avid collector and I have witnessed such purchases. Casio AB-200 Data Bank Watch Battery Change  (Module 321) 9/10/2023  Hello Fellow Casio enthusiasts from around the world.  In this post I am going to be changing the battery in my Casio AB-200 watch. If you have read my previous post on the AB-200, you will realise I had been looking for a good example of this watch for some years. I bought the watch in June 2022 but have no history of the watch, like when the last time the battery was changed. To be honest, I should have changed the battery when I first got the watch as a battery leak can be fatal for any watch. I have never worn the watch as I have a fear of damaging it or losing it as it cannot be replaced easily.
